Ignaz Strebel is an urban geographer and Senior Scientist within the Institute of Geography and Sustainability, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. His research is located at the intersection of Urban Studies and Science and Technology Studies, with a particular interest in the ethnographic study of buildings and infrastructure “in the making.” In his current research project he focuses on investigating the contribution of building care work to energy transition. His recent book publication (co-edited with Alain Bovet and Philippe Sormani) is Repair Work Ethnographies (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).

Moritz F. Fürst is Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Geography and Sustainability, and the Science and Technology Studies Lab of the University of Lausanne. His interests focus on knowledge and technology practices in the design and maintenance of information infrastructures and building technologies, particularly in the context of sociotechnical transitions towards data-driven and sustainable energy futures. He received a M.A. in Science and Technology Studies and a B.A. in Media and Communication Studies from the University of Vienna and has worked in the telecommunications, energy, and creative industries. Alain Bovet is a sociologist and Senior Scientist within the Institute of Geography and Sustainability, University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He teaches Communication at the University of Applied Sciences and Art, Western Switzerland. His teaching and research focus on communication practices in various contexts. His current research is a video ethnography of repair and maintenance work by heating and ventilation technicians. His recent book publication (co-edited with Ignaz Strebel and Philippe Sormani) is Repair Work Ethnographies (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019)
